Who are we?
Where did we come from?

Family History

Most of us know our Mamma’s and Daddy’s but do you know who your grandparents and beyond.  Did someone in your family serve in the military under George Washington, our nation’s first president?

Through word of mouth and historical records, we can explore our families history and sometimes we are surprised by what we find.  Did you know that my Dad had an older brother?  Did you know that Danny Calvert, my cousin had a younger brother?  I would like to share with you what I have found about my families, Cleveland, Seay, Smart, Mabry, Calvert, Nicholson, Wilson, to name a few.

Family Experiences

Family is a very important aspect of our lives.  Family is what makes us into ourselves as we grow older.  Family provides belonging, support, security, to name a few.  Family ties us to the past by stories and memories.  I can remember my grandma telling us about her granddaddy who fought in the war between the states.  I treasure those memories and you should too.  When they are gone that makes the memories even more valuable then ever before.

Family Values

We owe our values to the family that we grew up in.  That’s another reason that family is such an important part of our nation.  Without the family we are misguided and have no direction in our lives.
